“Goin’ Out West” (Tom Waits cover) – NEW SINGLE Out Now!

Just like that! The second single from my upcoming studio album “Goin’ Out West” is OUT NOW!!

One of my all time favourite Tom Waits tracks, “Goin’ Out West” from Waits’ album Bone Machine (1992) which he recorded in the basement of Prairie Sun Recording Studios with the help of artists such as Keith Richards and Les Claypool, is a super stripped down, rough and raw dark song, you can just about hear the cement flooring and water cooler of the studio cellar in the original recording. The song has been covered by artists such as Queens of the Stone Age and Ash Grunwald since, so I thought I’d give my take on it!

Tapping in to the original song’s relentless dark energy, layering beefed-up guitar tracks bolstered by my trusty hand made cigar box guitar and gigantic guitar amps, we built on the menacing and raw vibe of the song to create a more in-your-face stoner/desert rock style version.

This is the first release of mine that’s entirely electric guitar and heavy rock driven, with plenty more of that to come for the full album!
